Who we are
"The Christian family is in a real sense a 'domestic church' with parents as the first heralds of the Gospel."
Pope Saint John Paul II
Pope Saint John Paul II reminds us that parents have the profound mission of handing down the faith, not only through words, but through the example of a life rooted in love, prayer, and service. We believe that every Catholic family has the potential to make God’s faithful love visible in the world in a unique and powerful way.
At the Catholic Family Foundation, we are inspired by this beautiful vision of family life. Our mission is to walk alongside parents, supporting them in their call to build homes where faith is not simply taught but lived with freedom, integrity, and joy. Through our events, formation opportunities, and growing community, we seek to revitalise and encourage families to become true domestic churches — places where Christ is known, loved, and generously served through the ordinary, everyday activities of family life.
We are convinced that families who commit to this mission, even amid struggles and imperfections, are essential to the renewal of the Church and the transformation of society.
By strengthening parents in their role as educators of the faith, and by creating spaces where they can pray, learn, and grow together, we want to ensure that the light of the Gospel shines brightly in homes, parishes, and communities for generations to come.
The Catholic Family Foundation is not just an organisation; it is a network of families united in prayer, friendship, and a shared mission to bring Christ into the heart of family life. We are committed to supporting parents in cultivating homes where faith is lived openly, where children can come to know God as the true source of joy, and where families are equipped to live their faith with confidence and hope.
Many of our events are hosted at Worth Abbey in Sussex, and our work is deeply rooted in the Benedictine tradition. This heritage shapes not just what we do, but how we do it. We draw on the Benedictine rhythm of prayer, work, and community, weaving practices such as the Divine Office, Lectio Divina, and Eucharistic Adoration into our gatherings. The hospitality, stability, and joyful spirit that St. Benedict taught are reflected in the way we welcome families and walk alongside them.
